Vesectomy (vascetomy, vasectomies, vasectamy) and reversals - Failure rate and FAQ on vasectemy complications including tubal ligation

Vesectomy failure FAQ

Vasectomies (singular: visectomy, vasectamy, vasectemy, vesectomy, vasectomy) are rather safe operations for sterilizing men - but a vascetomy can go wrong.

vasectomies

How is a vasectomy (vasectamy) done?

First, the hair in the scrotum area is removed and the doctor injects a local anesthetic. Then, two small cuts are made by the scrotums and from there the tubes are lifted out. Both of the tubes are being cut and sometimes a small piece of each are removed. After that, the cuts are sealed with electric current or by using stitches and the openings in the scrotum sealed with small stitches. After resting for about half an hour you can go home from the vascetomy.

In the US there is also the very new Vasclip method of vascetomy available whereby the tubes are not cut off, but rather blocked using a type of clip. The rest of the operation is very similar, the placement of the incisions etc.

Most vasectomy FAQ will contain a section on reversing the operation. A vesectemy can be reversed, but reversal is only possible in certain circumstances and it does not have a very high success rate. The operation is really intended to be a permanent sterilization so it is wise to take in all available counseling before going through with it rather than relying on a possible riversal later.

Vasectomies (vesectomy, visectomy) failure

A visectomy is a very safe operation, only about one in every 2000 operations fail or have any major complications.

A vasectemy won’t affect you sexually and the sexual drive won’t change. The climaxes and erections will also be the same. Many find sex more pleasurable after the vasectamy, without worrying about making the partner pregnant. But sometimes there can be sexual problems after vasectomies. This is most of the time emotional and not due to a vesectomy failure as such.

Vascetomy no protection against HIV

It is good to know the fact that a vasectomy will not protect you against sexually transmitter infections like HIV. A vascetomy only prevents pregnancy. The only way to protect your selfs against these diseases is to use condoms.
